Parasitologie

Parasitology is a critical field in equine healthcare. It focuses on identifying, preventing, and managing parasitic infections in horses. Our equine clinic's laboratory specializes in diagnosing a wide range of internal and external parasites.
The conventional approach to detecting and counting intestinal parasites in both reference laboratories and veterinary clinics is a manual and time-intensive process. This typically requires the veterinarian to collect a faecal sample from the patient, package it, and either send it to a laboratory for analysis or perform a manual microscopy examination in the clinic. The laboratory then takes at least 48 hours to analyze the sample and provide the results. This process is time-consuming, depends on human interpretation, and is subject to variability in results among different users.
Our innovative OvaCyte™ machine, with its precision and speed, enables the preparation of faecal samples at the point of care in under two minutes with a fully automated procedure, providing reassurance about the accuracy of the diagnostic tool.
Using this advanced diagnostic tool, we provide precise assessments to guide targeted deworming protocols. By monitoring parasite loads and resistance patterns, we aim to improve equine health, optimize performance, and ensure the longevity of horses under our care. Our approach is evidence-based, instilling confidence in its effectiveness.
